PurposeIn Acts 1:8, Jesus is giving His disciples instruction regarding their work after He departed. Jesus tells them that they will be His witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. It is the responsibility of each member of Front Street to share God’s story of love and redemption not only at home (Jerusalem), or in North Carolina (Judea), or in the United States (Samaria), but also around the world (Ends of the Earth).

Vision StatementThe Share ministry will seek to make an impact by equipping and encouraging our members to share God’s love through praying, giving, and going. 1 Thessalonians 2:8b says, “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well (NIV).” Not only do we pray, give or go; we should also be about giving our lives to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those that we come in contact with on a daily basis.

Acts 1:8 Challenge
The Great Commission is “The Mission”
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
Acts 1:8 is the Strategy of the Church “on mission”
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8
Front Street Baptist Church has Accepted the Acts 1:8 Challenge!
The Acts 1:8 Challenge is an opportunity for our church to declare our commitment to a comprehensive missions strategy in our community (Jerusalem), state (Judea), continent (Samaria) and world (ends of the earth). In doing so, we invite our denominational Acts 1:8 partners – the South Yadkin Baptist Association, the Baptist State Convention of NC, the North American Mission Board, and the International Mission Board– to assist us. Further, we develop relationships with missionaries and ministries in each of these areas, covenanting to partner with them in praying, giving, and going.
The 8 “Kingdom-Growing” Responses of the Acts 1:8 Challenge
The eight Kingdom-Growing Responses of the Acts 1:8 Challenge (below) are designed to encourage our church to be intentional in areas of missions involvement under the leadership and power of the Holy Spirit.
Prepare
Empowering a designated leader of missions and developing mission teams, strategies, and plans to take the gospel to our community, state, continent and world
Learn
Bringing mission awareness and interaction to the entire church body, training members for service and connecting them to missionaries and mission needs
Pray
Asking God for kingdom perspective and worldwide vision, interceding for Christian workers and unevangelized peoples
Give
Increasing the financial support of the Cooperative Program and other SBC cooperative missions
Go
Enabling a growing number of members to directly participate in short-term, long-term and marketplace opportunities to minister and spread the gospel beyond our church’s walls
Tell
Involving an increasing number of members in intentional, culturally-relevant evangelism
Send
Providing members with opportunities to hear and respond to God’s call to vocational mission service
Multiply
Participating in church planting and facilitating church planting movements
